After months of waiting, I got my Inspiration!

I do not understand why it took months for this shade of eyeshadow from Ellana Minerals took months to be restocked. I have been tempted plenty of times to order directly from their online store but it was a waste, for me, to buy one small tiny thing and pay for shipping. So, I waited, and waited, finally, last Sunday, the Ellana Minerals stall in SM Makati had it on stock.

I will do a proper review of course, I have to give justice to the long waiting period I had to endure just to get my hands on this eyeshadow. But in a nutshell, its one of those eye shadows that everyone must have.

I just got word about Maybelline's new mascara, Long Extreme Double Stretch Mascara is about to hit the Philippine shores in November.

It claims to stretch lashes up to 85% with it's base coat while the top coat makes sure that it stays that way for up to 24 hours. It's not water proof but is 100% smudge proof and can be easily washed off with water.

By the way, it will sell for P599, a little above the prices of the other Maybelline Mascaras, so be sure to try it first before purchasing one.

I can't wait to try this one out, haven't tried Maybelline mascaras in a while after going over the fence to Japanese branded mascaras. I would love to see how this works and compares to my faves.

Wanted: HK Shopping Buddy

First stop, I have to thank Miumiu for replying to my question. Her HK shopping guide will be very helpful in planning my shopping agenda. But I am still scared to go to HK alone. I'm always with my family and I even give them the directions. We were just there last January so I'm pretty sure I still know my way around HK but I am getting really paranoid.

First, I am opting to stay in a guesthouse/hostel to spare more money for shopping, but really, I'm in a tight budget. Second, there have been two abductions that happened to tourists this year and the accid attacks in Mongkok. Third, I am getting really paranoid, what if I get mental block and forget the directions, etc?

I do not want to cancel my trip again, so I am hoping that i can find a travel buddy or a blogger from Hong Kong who can show me around even for just half of the day, just so I can refresh my memory and gain back my confidence.

Any bloggers out there going to Hong Kong on the second week of August?

Beauty Credit: Charcoal Nose Pore Cleansing Patch

It's been a couple of weeks now since I last posted a beauty review. Hmmm... maybe not, but it're reallybeen a while since I posted something beauty related. Aside from being busy with school work, I've also been addicted to playing Restaurant City. I can't explain why its addicting so you should try it out yourself. Actually, I'm writing this blog while my resto in Restaurant City is running. Need to get 10,000 customers!!!! *insert greedy laugh* hehehe

Let's move on to main reason of this entry. Presenting the Charcoal Nose Pore Cleansing Patch from Beauty Credit.

You can also buy this in a pack of three or four, I think.

This review has been long overdue since I already tried this last month. I got it in Watson's SM Mall of Asia for P35.00, 60 cents or more when translated to US dollar.

I was planning on getting more directions from the Beauty Credit website: http://beautycredit.co.kr/ but their English website was not available.

So I just relied on the SA's instructions. I was planning on including a li'l background about Beauty Credit since the brand only arrived in the Philippines recently and they only have one stall w/c is inside SM MOA's Watson's. What attracted me to try this prod was the packaging... as usual.

It's acutally simple but I like the drawing very much.

And my curiosity for Korean branded products because I've only tried their BB cream and nail polish. The nose strip looks like your typical nose strip, except that it has charcoal in it. I already tried a similar nose strip but it didn't work so well from me.

I didn't want to ruin the packaging so I tore off the top portion.

I followed the SA instructions dilligently, which is to wet my nose and the pore strip before I put it on my nose. I thought to myself maybe the reason why the Bench charcoal pore strip didn't work so well before was because I didn't wet the strip before I detached it from the plastic film. So it was hard for me to remove it from the film and I ended up wasting more than half of the strip.

Anyway, I hoped for the better for this one since I was confident that the SA gave me the right intstructions. But lo and behold...

Such a waste...

A lot of the charcoal cream thing remained on the plastic film and...

it was so messy to put on. If you look closely at the picture above, you'll see that the sides of my nose was temporarily stained by the charcoal cream thing. It was not a joy putting this on.

I waited for it to harden and it worked like a typical nose strip. Except it was messy and wasteful.

You'll buy this because:
1) The price is quite alright.
2) The packaging is cute enough.
3) It works like a typical nose pore strip. Not so bad at all...

You won't buy this because...
1) Bench has a cheaper version, it sells for P22.00, I think.
2) It's messy to put on and you'll waste most of that charcoal cream thing...
3) It doesn't do anything special.
4) You're better off using a typical white nose pore strip.

I guess history does repeat itself and I never learned from my experience with the previous charcoal pore strip. I'll just buy the regular white one. It's so addictive when you finally can remove the hardened strip from your nose and see all those... you know what I mean! heheh

Got any suggestions, ladies?

A Newbie's Make Up Stash...

I'm not a totally make up newbie but I've been a non make up wearer for quite a few years. There was a point when I felt like it was pointless to wear make up. I guess, that stage, I was trying to love myself, imperfections and all. But when you're a girl, it is inevitable to stay away from make up. So I've been reincarnated to the cosmetics world and with almost no knowledge of make up.

Yipee!

Well, its hard to buy a lot of cosmetics nowadays because of the economic crisis but before all hell broke loose, I've accumulated quite a handful of cosmetic products. Mostly from Japanese brands and local drugstore brands.

I have, so far, acquired a couple of mascaras, (from Majolica Majorca and Kiss Me):

A pressed powder and a 2 way cake foundation (both from HBC, a local drugstore brand):

A powder blush-on (from Fashion 21, a local drugstore brand):

A concealer (from Fanny Serrano Cosmetics, local, somewhat drugstore brand):

An eyeshadow palette (from E.L.F.):

A lipstick (from Chanel):

A lipgloss(from Sugar Baby):

And something that works like a lip balm:

An eyelash curler (from Shu Uemura):

And a BB Cream (Etude House):

See how little and incomplete my make up stash is?

I know I still lack a few basic items but I don't know which ones to buy. Even if I follow a lot of beauty blogs I still feel lost and overwhelmed. The idea of shopping for make up excites me a lot but the moment I step inside the Department store or when I browse through the different online shops I feel overwhelmed so I sometimes buy things that I don't need. (Hmmm... is it just me?haha)

I guess I am like an empty make up kit waiting to be filled with wonderful goodies.

I need to read more, morE, moRE, mORE, MORE! hahaha

So I have a series of questions for you my dear reader/s, well hopefully there's more than so I can get a lot of help...

I have been busy with work and school lately. But I've also been doing a little cosmetics hauling every now and then because I'm preparing for a swap! I'm so excited because it will be my first.

I mostly bought stuff from Fanny Serrano, Fashion 21 and HBC. All local cosmetics! :) I can't wait to try another swap.

For the past, almost, two years now, I have been teaching English to Japanese kids online. I have grown attached to the people I work with. But today, because of our present economic crisis, we are forced to part ways.

And if things can get any worse, I, together with my other remaining officemates, may also bid goodbye to what we have been doing for the past two years, in a couple of days.

I am blogging because I feel very depressed on how things are turning out. And I need to vent out hoping that someone will tell me everything will be okay even if it does not seem to be. I could not believe that when I go back to work next week it will be like coming in at work on a weekend. Yes, I still have work on a weekend but it's all good.

Now, I'm thinking of not spending so much on skincare and cosmetics and just stick for to reading your beauty reviews until the economy starts to come out of the hole that it has unwittingly dug.

Today, I started thinking of dieting. I badly need to lose weight before summer comes so I can look decent in a monokini. But I also started to think of those things that I will miss out on once I started dieting. Imagine not being able to eat rice often, or skipping out on yummy but greasy pizza. And eating spaghetti with loads of cheese on it. Plus, I still had some Japanese chocolates I brought back home from my Hong Kong trip last January and I certainly could not just stare at them while they rot away.

I love Japanese chocolates, they are not too sweet and every packaging has is cute! I bought a enough to fill my overnight bag. I must have spent a good amount of money on these chocolates.

So, while I try my hardest not to stuff myself with chocolates and other what-not... could you please share with me, what your favorite Japanese chocolates are? And why do you love them?

I haven't been posting for a while. I'm obsessed with Gossip Girl again. haha

I can't stop watching it. Last night, I watched at least 6 episodes from the latest season. Imagine my eyebags...

Anyway, I will try my best to post reviews of the latest items I have purchased. I also picked up from the post office, the lip essence I ordered from Adambeauty, almost 2 weeks ago. And, the Japanese cosmetics I pre-ordered arrived here in Manila last Saturday but I haven't had them delivered to my place yet. So, I will have lots of stuff to review in the coming days.

Also, the reason why I haven't posted an entry in the past few days is that I have been checking all the eyeshadow products from Adam Beauty and Good Dealer. I can't decide what to buy and from what shop will I buy my eye shadow palette from.

iWhite Mandarin Extreme Cleansing Balm

I've been using the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Neo mascara for almost two weeks now and I've spent more time in the bathroom than I usually do. I tried removing it with baby oil and petroleum jelly but it didn't really work. Meaning, I still looked like I was wearing mascara. So, now I am on the search for the best mascara remover that will also best suit my skin.

Let me introduce you to iWhite Mandarin Extreme Cleansing Balm. I got this last Sunday for P30.00 (less than a dollar) at SM Makati. I only bought a sample size to try out the product since it claims to "effectively melt make-up". I was too excited to try it out so I didn't think before making the purchase... hehe I also bought a small pot of Petroleum Jelly so I have a back up.
Again, I was too excited to try it out so I never really read the directions. The first time I used this, I washed my face with water then applied the balm. The stuff itself looks like liquified orange jelly and smells like orange too, hence the sticker at the upper right corner of the packaging. It smells good enough for you to taste a bit of it. So after a minute, I tried to rinse it off. But it didn't rinse off easily because, again I didn't read the back much just knew about this last night, it contains "Mandarin Orange Peel Oil " and "Olive Fruit Oil". So, imagine washing your face with olive oil and rinsing it afterwards. It doesn't feel like you really rinsed it off.
Before using the cleansing balm

It was quite stupid of me to, after my first attempt, dry off my face and apply the cleansing balm again. I rinsed it off again and then used my daily facial wash to remove the cleansing balm entirely. So by now, you must know that it wasn't all successful, on the cleansing balm's part because I used facial wash afterwards. Or was it successful?

After using the cleansing balm twice then rinsing it off entirely with facial wash.

And update: I just used it tonight. I followed the instructions and it remove my mascara. It just softened it a bit so I had to use the cleansing balm twice then use my facial wash. So I guess have to keep on searching.

But overall, it wasn't so bad. So if you're curious you can try it out for yourself and maybe it'll work for you.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the person who started or invented online shopping. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you. Special mention to Paypal, too.

I have been an occasional online shopper for the past few years, but I have not tried buying cosmetics online. Let alone, from brands with instructions that I can hardly read.

Since I can not stop myself from my current obsession with Japanese cosmetics, I searched and stumbled upon Musingsofamuse.com's entry about shopping for Japanese cosmetics. She mentioned, you guessed it, Adambeauty.com, as one of her recommendations.

So, for the past few weeks I have been lingering around Adambeauty.com. I've been trying to stop myself from buying anything online at this point because I am awaiting several pre-order purchases for Korean and Japanese cosmetics. But the shopaholic in me was unstoppable so I succumbed to its call.

Yes, I placed an order at Adambeauty.com.

But I did not spend more than $7.00.

I just wanted to satisfy my shopping pangs. I also wanted to make sure that it is safe from someone who lives in Manila, Philippines, to order from Adambeauty.com without using EMS.

Yes, I did not use EMS... hehe I know its a gamble but $7.00 was all that was left in my Paypal account. So, I had to make do with what I have.

What did I order? Lemme show you...

I bought a Kiss Me Softsense Jelly lip essence... hehe It was cute looking and cheap enough to gamble on.

Moving on, I chose to pay through Paypal and ship through Hong Kong Post Registered Mail. So I'm hoping it would arrive in less than two weeks. HOPEFULLY...

It is very easy to shop at Adambeauty because it is well organized and everything is explained to you before you do anything that is life altering. And it has a bit of everything.

I'm still thinking twice about letting go of my iPod. But I know deep in my heart that it is time for her to find a new partner in life. Honestly, I am not much of an avid listener. Only when I'm on long haul and out of the country travels do I lug my iPod with me so other than that I just keep it safely inside my closet. Tucked in together with the other love of my life, my Nintendo DS. hehehe I took a few photos of my beloved iPod.

I will miss my iPod a lot but it's time for me part ways with my dear gadget. Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Okay, so I the title sounds a lil' lame, but I can't think of any way to combine the words 'new' and 'excited'. Why combine those two words? Because, firstly my layout is new again, secondly I'm excited to begin with my Gimme Your Stuff Swap!

Thanks sugar-pixie(check my credits for her link) for my cute new layout! I told you I love anything and everything that's cute. For the meantime, I'll be sticking to this one because its also hard to tweak layouts so you could fit it perfectly to your blog. This took me almost an hour to tweak since my web scripting skills are getting rusty.

About time...

It took me to my lowest point to buy a new pair of jeans. Just as I thought my day would turn out as usual,(its better for it to be a usual day rather than it turning out to be a bad one) the last pair of okay bottoms that I had got its zipper broken by my trusty left hand. So let us not prolong this with more insignificant words. I was in the toilet after a hearty meal of Chicken Inasal at Jay-J's when my hand just suddenly pulled the zip of the zipper. I don't know how you call that thing you use to open and close your zipper. Since I couldn't go to the shops to buy a new one asap, I had to endure two hours of lining up at NSO with my fly open. Good thing I had a tote bag with me to cover it up.

Fast forward, I rushed to SM and bought me a new pair. Wait, don't you even wonder why I had to reach my desperation point to get a new pair? I love my butt, so don't get me wrong, but having this asset doesn't really help me in finding the right jeans for my shape. I had to fit four times to find the right one for me, and get this, all of the jeans I fitted are of the same size, two of which are of the same brand. I have a normal body, but my butt is quite like J. Lo's. No wonder she made her own line of jeans, which I thanked God for btw.

So, of course, you could just imagine just how desperate I was because I immediately changed into my new ones. Word of advise, don't copy me. hehehe By the way, those Baleno skinnies are pretty good looking and the price is as good as how it looks too. I got mine for P499.75.
